Max Power: The Legacy Behind the Black Opal Paddle

Max Power: The Legacy Behind the Black Opal Paddle

At Six Zero Pickleball, every paddle we create is built with purpose, but some designs carry a meaning that reaches far beyond performance.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Max Clayton Robinson, a bright, adventurous and deeply loved young boy whose courage and spirit continue to inspire us.

Max’s story is one of remarkable resilience. From a very young age he was fearless. He raced to keep up with his big brother Jack, jumped into new activities with boundless energy and earned the nickname “Fish” for his love of the water. His laughter, cheeky smile and zest for life left a genuine impression on his family, his friends and his community.

At just 18 months old Max was diagnosed with leukemia. Across the next three and a half years he confronted hospital stays, transfusions and difficult treatments with strength, humor and hope. The treatments challenged him physically and emotionally, yet he still found ways to dream, play and bring joy to everyone around him. He remained himself through it all!

To honor Max’s journey, we have added “Max Power” to the design of our Black Opal paddle. The Black Opal is the most advanced and powerful paddle Six Zero has ever created. With Max’s name on it, this paddle becomes more than equipment. It becomes a tribute to determination, courage and character forged through real challenge. Just as an opal gem forms under pressure the story of Max reminds us of that great beauty and resilience often follow the hardest battles.

A portion of the proceeds from every Black Opal paddle sold will be donated to Clown Doctors Australia. Clown Doctors transform hospitals, hospices and aged-care settings across Australia through humor, play and human connection. Their performers are not just entertainers they are companions for children, families and older people navigating difficult health journeys. In children’s hospitals they bring moments of courage, laughter and comfort to kids facing treatments and long stays. The program supports over 300,000 children, families, carers and health staff each year in Australia. Through this partnership Max’s power will continue to uplift others. Bringing strength, joy and hope to children and families when they need it most!

For us at Six Zero this paddle is not just about performance metrics or technical specs. It stands for something larger. It is a reminder to play with heart, to stand with courage and to live with the kind of bold spirit Max showed every day!

Max Power lives on in every swing, every rally and every player who steps onto the court.
